As of February 11, 2008 I began my position at Forsythe Technology as Master Consultant in the Solaris 10 Practice. When approached with this position, I knew it was an opportunity not to be passed up. Not only would I be working with the best talent in the industry, my job would be to work with what I consider a groundbreaking and revolutionary operating system.
What makes Sun Solaris 10 revolutionary? Where do I start? Just to mention one, it has one of the most advanced filesystems around: ZFS. What makes ZFS unique is the capability and functionality when working in demanding applications, where scalability and performance issues are of the up-most importance. I will post more on this topic in future blogs.
With over 12 years in the IT industry, my specialty is in systems engineering. I am fascinated with the systems internals, capacity planning, performance tuning, networking, and virtualization. I live in the Dallas area with my wife and two children.They keep me busy in my off time with their abundant energy and contagious enthusiasm for everything in life.
