At Forsythe, we have created a new offering that we feel is very compelling. It is quite simple really, and the beauty of it is in its simplicity.
We will evaluate and optimize your Solaris 10 capable application (meaning that it doesn't have to run on S10 today, just be capable of it for the analysis) and get you a minimum of a 20% increase in performance (whatever you measure - transactions per second, batch run time, etc.) or the entire engagement is FREE (as in beer, not as in puppy). That means you pay nothing for the time, expenses, or anything else that routinely comes with a performance optimization engagement. Obviously, this is intended for those business critical (revenue generating) applications that you rely on to make money, retain customers, and have competitive advantage.
The really cool part is how little time we require of your staff to make this happen. The on-site portion is usually a 1 day engagement to asses and collect some basic information and a 2-3 day follow up for the actual analysis and recommendations. There is a indeterminate amount of time between the two (not usually very long) to allow for analysis, performance improvement forecasting and remediation strategy development - as well as coordination of schedules.
I would love to provide all of the details here as I am very excited about this (I have wanted to do it for years), but when you tack the word "free" onto anything; lawyers can get a bit pedantic about exact terminology.
